St. John’s has been a Nursery Outreach Centre since December 2012. We recieve a specific allocation of funding from the Local Authority to enable us to provide this service. The budget allocation is agreed with school and the Local Authority at the beginning of each financial year.
The budget allocation for 2014/15 is £144,750. This money is used to employ five full time SEND Teaching Assistants. It also covers their travelling expenses between settings, contining professional develeopment and provide any necessary resources required by the children they are supporting. Details of how this money is utilised is provided in the schools budget statement and monitored by the Finance Committee of the Governing Body.
Funding for pupils requiring additional support is contained within our school budget which is equivalent to the Age-Weighted Pupil Unit (AWPU) plus £6,000 Funding in excess of the expected school contribution for individual pupils is provided to schools as Top-Up Funding.
High Needs Top-Up Funding
2014/15 the school has recieved an additional £5,438.84 to support a pupil with a Statement of Special Educational Needs.
